UL 2085 Fireguard tanks are protected tanks that include an above ground tank with a secondary containment. The interstitial space contains an insulation system, which is intended to protect the primary tank from physical damage. The insulation system limits the heat transferred to the primary tank when exposed to a 2-hour hydrocarbon pool fire. The UL 2085 listed protected Fireguard tank meets ballistics and impact protection per the UL 2085 standard. The tank also meets the standards of NFPA 30, NFPA 30A, IFC, CARB testing requirements for air emissions and STI F941.

The UL 2085 Standard for Protected Aboveground Tanks for Flammable and Combustible Liquids is a construction standard for the tank industry. Double wall UL 2085 Fireguard tanks are constructed under this standard. Underwriters Laboratories (UL) is an accredited developer of standards for product safety and performance. UL standards are widely recognized in the United States and Canada across many industries. UL Certified or listed means that UL has tested product samples and determined that it meets UL's nationally recognized Standards for Safety.

Construction is of steel and the insulation material is lightweight. Shipping, installation, relocation and recycling costs for this tank are far less costly than concrete tanks. We offer a cylindrical horizontal design and a rectangular design. All of our UL 2085 fireguard tanks are equipped with supports. The round horizontal tanks have saddles and the rectangular tanks have I-beam supports. Interior coatings are available when additional corrosion resistance is needed. Exteriors come standard with a white epoxy topcoat. Emergency vents are supplied with the purchase of each UL2085 Fireguard tank.
